Premier Soccer League club Free State Stars have signed gospel musician Mzoxolo Rafani.
Eastern Cape music artist Rafani will now have to channel extra efforts into the football field after signing a professional contract with Glad Africa Championship side (formerly known as the National First Division) Free State Stars in Bethlehem.
“He has been on trial with Free State Stars and has now been signed by the club. I think he has been there for two weeks, and the club was impressed, and has now been offered a contract,” confirmed the player’s mentor Mncedi Lali to Soccer Laduma’s Masebe Qina.
Lali further detailed that the 29-year-old has a goalscoring reputation that includes a Player of the Tournament accolade.
“He is officially a Free State Stars player. He has always played football and is a good player. He is one of the best players from the Sarah Baartman District Municipality and in the Eastern Cape. For consecutive times, he has been Player of the Tournament and top goal-scorer in the New Year’s Cup tournament (in Grahamstown),” Lali added.
