Former Orlando Pirates coach Milutin Micho Sredojevic is now on a bumper R18m contract at Zamalek.
While Sredojevic’s resignation from Pirates last week is still a shock to Bucs fans, the Serbian coach does not have much time to dwell on his decision as he faces a huge task that comes with multi-millions of Rands.
The eccentric and notorious owner of Micho’s new Egyptian club, Mr Mortada Mansour, thought nothing of telling reporters that the 49-year-old Serb will pocket US$100‚000 per month (approximately R1.5m) and US$1.2-million (R18m) a season.
“Micho signed a one-season contract for US$1.2-million (R18m). The contract includes a release clause stipulating a compensation worth two months of the coach’s salary‚” Mansour revealed to Egytian media via TimesLIVE.
One of Micho’s mandates is expected to be winning the CAF Champions League, and the competition is where he will make his debut this Saturday in a preliminary round qualifier against Somalia’s Dekehada in Cairo.
