Liverpool proved their superiority over Arsenal on Saturday as they beat the Gunners 3-1 in an English Premier League clash.
Two goals from Mohamed Salah after Joel Matip's first half opener was enough to hand the Reds all three points.
Liverpool started off nicely with the combination of Sadio Mane, Mo Salah and Roberto Firmino doing the threat.
Arsenal, were the defensive side in the first 20 minutes but Pepe had a couple of chances that forced Adrian to make some saves.
Mane would have put Liverpool ahead in the 20th minute when an Arsenal defender cleared the ball to the feet of the Senegalese, but goalkeeper Bernd Leno was equal to the task as he save their blushes.
On the half-hour mark, Pepe got a clean pass from Aubameyang but his left-footed shot only came close to the post.
Four minutes later, Pepe got another chance when he was gifted by a Jordan Henderson defensive error but goalkeeper Adrian again denied him.
Liverpool took the lead in the 41st minute when Matip jumped high to head in a corner, putting the Reds ahead at half time.
Arsenal started the second half on a rather sad note when after just two minutes of the re-start, David Luiz pulled Salah's shirt inside the 18-yard box and the ref pointed to the spot and showed the Brazilian a yellow card.
Salah took the penalty and converted nicely.
The Egyptian scored his second through a solo effort, forcing his way past Arsenal defenders to slot in cooly in the 58th minute.
Arsenal reduced the deficit when Torreira fired in from an Aubameyang pass six minutes from time.
That was all Arsenal could do as the four minutes added time did not stop Liverpool from sealing a 3-1 victory.
