Lampard provides Mason Mount injury update after Norwich clash

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has played down Mason Mount injury scare after the youngster limped off with a perceived calf injury towards the end of their 3-2 win against Norwich on Saturday.

The academy graduate continued with his good form in front of goal, scoring for the second match in a row at Carrow Road, and alongside Tammy Abraham, was the star of the show once again.

It is for this reason that the club's fans got overly concerned at the sight of him limping off, but the manager is positive he will be able to shake it off before the next match.

"Mason took a knock to his calf, so that is better than a strain, obviously," said Lampard after the match.

"So hopefully in a couple of days it will settle down, so hopefully that is good news. We will assess it." he added.

His absence might be bad news for Lampard, who already lost Pedro and N'Golo Kante to injuries before the match, with the former expected to be back after the international break.

The team is also expecting to welcome back Antonio Rudiger and Callum Hudson-Odoi after the break, which will be a major boost to the side.

Their first win at Carrow Road saw them move up to 12th, after a shaky start where they lost away to Manchester United before drawing 1-1 at home to Leicester.
