Arsenal manager Unai Emery has indicated he was pleased with some of his team's players, despite going down 3-1 against Liverpool in an English Premier League match on Saturday evening.
The Spaniard's team started well at Anfield, but the home side's clinical finishes gave them a 3-0 lead, with Torreira pulling one back for the visitors with five minutes to go.
Mohamed Salah was at his mercurial best and grabbed a brace, having given David Luiz a torrid time throughout the match.
Emery was however impressed by Matteo Guendouzi and Joe Willock, who he said 'made a good step up' during the match.
"I think some players like Willock, he did another step ahead here today. Matteo [Guendouzi] also good match," he told Sky Sports.
"The impact with Lucas [Torreira], with [Alexandre] Lacazette, with Mickey [Henrikh Mkhitaryan] also was good," he added.
The manager further defended new boy Dani Ceballos, who had a disappointing match against the European Champions.
Ceballos was man-of-the-match last time out against Burnley but found the going tough at Anfield, coming up against the impressive Wijnaldum and Fabinho in the Liverpool midfield.
"Ceballos today struggled more than last week, but it’s one experience more for him. We need to be optimistic,' he added.
Arsenal will have a week to prepare for yet another blockbuster match, this time welcoming rivals Tottenham Hotspur at the Emirates.
