Crystal Palace: Camarasa to make debut; Cahill comments on opponents

Victor Camarasa is contention to make his maiden debut for Crystal Palace as the latter are set to take on Colchester United in the Carabao Cup tonight.

Camarasa who was shipped out on loan to Cardiff City during the 2018/19 season was not included in the starting lineup from the last two fixtures.

Gary Cahill experienced winning the EFL Cup with Chelsea back in 2015 - he made his official debut in Palace's win over Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Cahill to Standard Sport in an interview that the team should remain focused and not underestimate their lower league opponents.

“There is no point in having the result, performance and motivation at Old Trafford to go and underestimate our opponents tonight, we need to show maximum respect to them and get a job done professionally," Cahill told Standard Sport.

“I see an opportunity to go on a cup run and get as far as we can if you can manage to get to a quarter, semi or final it is wide open and ready to go.

"We take it one step at a time, tonight we have a tough game but one we feel we should win if we go about it in the right way.”
