Nigerian midfielder Oghenekaro Etebo was in action on Tuesday when his Stoke City club beat Leeds United 5-4 on penalties in the Carabao Cup.
Etebe did not make the starting 11, but was introduced to action when he replaced Tyrese Campbell in the 70th minute.
Stoke raced to a 2-0 lead in the first half with goals from Danny Batth (39) and Sam Vokes (44), but Leeds rallied back to draw level after the break.
Edward Nketiah's 67th goal first reduced the deficit before Helder Costa drew level nine mintes from time.
Penalty shootout later decided the winner and Stoke carried the day.
It was a sweet revenge for Etebo and his teammates against a side that thumped them 3-0 in the Championship at home on Satuday.
