English Premier League champions Manchester City has given an update on the injury of French defender Aymeric Laporte.
The club through their social media feeds confirmed that the French defender has undergone surgery on his knee after his injury during Saturday’s defeat of Brighton.
The extent in which he will be out was not communicated by the club with the defender having damaged his cartilage and lateral meniscus in the collision that forced him off.
Replaced by Fernandinho
The Frenchman was replaced in the team by Fernandinho, who is now likely to fill in at centre-back in their next game.
