Former Nigeria international, Victor Anichebe, is set to join third tier of English club Doncaster Rovers.
Anichebe is a free agent after his contract with Chinese Super League second division club, Beijing Enterprises was prematurely ended in 2017.
According to a report on the Doncaster Free Press, contractual terms have been discussed with Anichebe and an official statement to be released soon.
“I would imagine if he’s training with us he’s a possibility, or maybe he’s coming in to have a look at us, and us have a look at him, get some fitness,” Schofield told Doncaster Free Press.
“He (Anichebe) is a free agent, so there’s no real rush, for want of a better word. He’s done okay.”
The 31-year-old made 168 appearances for Everton in seven years at the club, scoring 25 goals. He then had spells at West Bromwich Albion and Sunderland before joining Beijing Enterprises in June 2017.
