Spain goalkeeper David De Gea is set to sign a new deal with Manchester United according to reports from Old Trafford.
According to the Guardian, the new deal will see the goalkeepers wages rise to £290,000 per week; an amount that put him close to the club highest earners in Paul Pogba and Alexis Sanchez who has already moved to Inter Milan on a loan deal.
The Spaniard’s current deal is set to expire at the end of the current campaign, with United understandably eager to sign an extension as soon as possible.
Under the terms of his current deal, the goalkeeper received roughly £200,000 per week and with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer making it clear to De Gea that he forms an important part of his plans the club has been eager to keep one of their topmost asset.
The goalkeeper has had his downs towards the end of last season and some shaky outings with the national team but United has not seen it wise to drop him from the team.
