Pep Guardiola reveals two more players who can play at centre back

With Manchester City suffering a center back crisis, Pep Guardiola has revealed that Rodri or Kyle Walker could help fill in the gap.

Aymeric Laporte is still recovering from a surgery that is set to keep him out for the rest of the year while John Stones suffered an injury in the build-up to the Shakhtar Donetsk clash. Fernandinho slotted in at center back in the game against Ukranian champions, aiding his side to a clean sheet.

Guardiola praised Fernandinho for his display while naming two possible replacements at center back, "I didn’t have doubts he could do it. He’s going to do it - Nico is 31, Ferna is 34, and next alternative is 18, and for three or four months I don’t know what will happen. Both were incredible tonight.

"Nico showed incredible personality after what happened in the previous game. We need another solution,” he said. “Rodri or Kyle Walker maybe because they cannot play every game at their age. Ferna can play in any position and that’s why he’s so important for us."
