Europa League action returned on Thursday night 19th September, with a total of 24 matches played across different grounds in Europe.

There were few surprises, with many of the top teams securing match-day one victories in battles that saw a massive 75 goals scored.

Group A favourites Sevilla scored three second-half goals against Qarabag to take control of the group, with Dudelange recording a surprise 4-3 win away to APOEL.

Arsenal recorded a huge victory away to last season's semi-finalists Eintracht Frankfurt, with youngster Bukayo Saka the highlight of the show.

In Manchester, United got off to a winning start, narrowly squeezing past Kazakhstan's FC Astana 1-0 at their Old Trafford grounds.

However, Premier League compatriots Wolves suffered a 1-0 loss at home to Portuguese side Braga, while Roma strolled to a comfortable 3-0 home win over Basksehir.

In Portugal, Porto beat Young Boys 2-1, while Borussia Monchengladbach suffered a humiliating 4-0 defeat at home to Wolfsberg.
