Mark Mayambela’s long search for a new club has ended. The Khayelitsha-born left-winger has signed in Hartleyvale after leaving Chippa United last season before an unsuccessful trial at Highlands Park.
Just when the deal looked to have fallen through because of owner John Comitis' initial reluctance, the owner finally gave in to coach Benni McCarthy’s pleas to sign his former Orlando Pirates teammate.
The deal was announced, in the Citizens typically quirky ways, via social media on Tuesday night.
Additionally, the 32-year-old scored on debut just hours later in last night’s 2-1 loss to AmaZulu.
