Chelsea manager Frank Lampard says his side's defense was threatened by Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen in Wednesday's UEFA Champions League 2-1 win over Lille.
Nigeria-eligible striker Tammy Abraham opened scoring to put Chelsea ahead in the 22nd minute following a pass from Fikayo Tomori.
But Osimhen's 33rd minute header - his first Champions League goal - drew level for Lille.
“I know where he (Osimhen) comes from, I know his story he made a big game and managed to ask us a lot of problems in defense. He will make a big career,” Lampard told reporters after the game.
“He was hugely impressive. Tonight was going to be a tough match for our defenders. His performance individually was really good.”
Willian scored the winner in the 78th minute to seal a 2-1 victory for Chelsea.
Lille are without a win in the group from two games, while Chelsea have three points from same number of games.
