Zesco United hand Napsa their first defeat of the season

Zesco United continued their fantastic start to the season as they maintained their 100 percent winning record-beating Napsa Stars 3-2 to move to second on the log.

Zesco United went into the encounter having not dropped any points so far this season while Napsa Stars were coming from their first draw of the season but we're yet to test defeat.

Zesco hit the ground running and were ahead after eighteen minutes, Ugandan striker Umaru Kasumba netting his first goal of the season to put the defending Champions in the lead. The lead however only lasted for 12 minutes as Bornwell Mwape leveled matters in the 30th minute with a brilliant strike to make sure the match went to the break level at one all.

Clement Mwape put the hosts back in the lead in the 64th minute with a close-range finish. Zesco was in the mood and doubled their lead in the 82nd minute thanks to a Ransom Mucheleng'anga mistake as a Quadri Kola weak bounced awkwardly to leave him with no chance.

Bornwell Mwape reduced the deficit five minutes to time with a powerful free-kick to ensure the match had a nerve ending but Zesco United managed to hold on and win the match 3-2.

The win takes Zesco United to second on the log within a point of log leaders Red Arrows with a game in hand while Napsa Stars drop to third place.
