After a frustrating start to the season, Antonio Rudiger provided an injury update ahead of his expected return after the international break.
Rudiger suffered an injury against Manchester United back in April and returned in the 5-2 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers last month, however, the center-back suffered another setback with a groin injury. The German defender slipped when running off the pitch while making a clearance and came off at half-time.
A post on Chelsea's official Instagram handle had Rudiger's photo on it with the caption, "Good to see you back out there, @ToniRudiger! Keep up the work!". Lampard might want to give Rudiger some minutes in the U23s again, instead of rushing him back into first-team football despite Chelsea struggling to keep a clean sheet.
