Zambia U-17 national team coach Osward Mutapa described his teams 7-0 win over South Africa's Amjimbo's in their group A match at the ongoing COSAFA U17 Championships on Monday.
Mutapa was also quick to point out to adequate preparations as the reason why the team is playing so well.
"It was a great game, especially that we got maximum points and we also stuck to our game plan we scored early and denied South Africa space because we new their technical ability and closing up spaces helped us. it's a great result for us," Mutapa said.
"Football is all about preparations and we have always been saying let us prepare adequately for the tournament and our Technical Director was pushing for us, we did the selection in May and started monthly camping of a week in each month in June, July, August while in September and October we had two weeks camp so it tells from the results. If we want results to let's prepare these boys adequately," he said.
South Africa and Eswatini will battle it out tomorrow in their last group game at Kamuzu Stadium with the Latter needing a win to advance to the semi-finals and could go through at the expense of Malawi on Head-to-Head even if The Young Flames register a win over the Junior Chipolopolo at Mpira Stadium with both matches Kicking-Off Simultaneously at 14:00hrs.
