Zambia national team survived a late scare as they labored to a 2-2 draw with Eswatini to secure a spot at the Cameroon 2020 CHAN tournament thanks to a 3-2 aggregate win.
The locally-based Copper Bullets came into the match carrying 1-0 advantage from the first leg and they were the favorites.
Emmanuel Chabula put Zambia in the lead just after four minutes as he finished off an Amity Shamende pass to put the Copper Bullets in the lead and in control of the match. The Copper Bullets went to the break with a one-nil lead.
Emmanuel Chabula received a good pass from midfield beating a defender for pace before beating the goalkeeper in a one on one situation to double the lead.
Eswatini pulled one back in the 57th minute responding immediately after Zambia had doubled the lead, Dlamani Phida with the goal from close range.
Sifiso Matse leveled matters 10 minutes to time to serve up a nervy ending to the match, 2-2 it ended.
Zambia progress to the CHAN tournament with a 3-2 aggregate win.
