Patrice Evra confirms talks with Manchester United over potential club role

Former Manchester United left-back Patrice Evra has revealed that he has held talks between him and the club over a potential role at Old Trafford moving forward.

Evra retired from football last summer after being at United from 2006 to 2014 before leaving for Juventus, with the ex-France international ending his career with stints at Marseille and then West Ham. The 38-year-old has since been at the United training ground doing his coaching badges.

Speaking while making an appearance on Sky Sports, Evra confirmed that he is in talks with United over a potential role, "I want to make it clear because people think I am already working for United, but no I am just doing my coaching badges.

"I am having some important talks behind the scenes so we will decide whether I work for the club in a certain role. The problem is I want to do everything, but in life you can’t do everything. But yeah, a role where I can put my hands dirty.

"If I come back to the club, it's not just to put my face on it, it's because I want my club to go back to the best club in the world. As a player, I sacrificed my life to succeed at this club, so I don’t know which role I will have but I will do the same."
