Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has confirmed N'Golo Kante will not feature for the side in their Premier League match against Burnley on Saturday.
The midfielder has failed to recover in time for the match, having missed the last two fixtures with a niggling foot injury.
The Frenchman is joined by three other stars in Ross Barkley, Antonio Rudiger, and Andreas Christensen, who have failed to recover in good time as well.
Kante has had a troubled season so far, having missed a huge chunk of matches due to recurrent injuries.
Rudiger too has been out for long spells, following a season-ending injury he sustained towards the end of last season.
He successfully made a return to the side but suffered another setback during the Blues' win over Wolves a few weeks ago.
Lampard indicated they are both are suffering the fallout from injuries sustained last season and their recoveries are being managed carefully after stop-start comebacks.
The team will, however, be ready for the team with spirits high following a recent run of results that has seen them win six of their last matches in all competitions.
"I thought we could have picked up more points in the early part of the season but I've been pleased with the last six games," he said.
He also noted that the Clarets are not an easy team espeically when playing at home, and will give them the maximum respect when they face off.
The Blues are currently fourth on the log on 17 points after nine matches, eight off league leaders Liverpool.
