πŸ“ Burnley 2-4 Chelsea: Pulisic becomes youngest EPL hat-trick scorer in Chelsea history

Chelsea registered a 4-2 win over hosts Burnley in a Premier League clash staged at Turf Moor on Saturday 26th.

21-year-old Christian Pulisic grabbed his first goals for the club and did so in style, becoming the youngest Premier League hat-trick scorer for Chelsea and only the second-ever American to notch a treble and take home the match ball in England's tip flight. Willian added the fourth for Chelsea. Starting for the first time since August, Pulisic scored two goals in the first half before completing his hattrick in the second half. Willian netted the fourth goal to push the game out of Burnley's reach while putting the Blues in complete control. However, in the final 10 minutes, Chelsea lost concentration, allowing Burnley to score two consolation goals while denying Kepa a clean sheet, thanks to goals from  Jay Rodriguez and Dwight McNeil.

Pulisic 21

Coming back to the team, Pulisic scored his first goal for Chelsea after being handed the first team in the Premier League since August. Lowton slipped 40 yards out and Pulisic was straight onto it and kept the ball when Tarkowski tried to hold him up just inside the box. He kept going away from goal but played it back across the defender and into the far corner for a fine debut strike.

Quick fact

Christian Pulisic became the first player from the USA to score for Chelsea in the Premier League. Starting for the first time since August, Pulisic scored two goals in the first half before completing his hattrick in the second half. Willian netted the fourth a minute later to push the game out of Burnley reach.

Pulisic brace

It was a dream day for Pulisic as he netted his second just before half time a goal which appeared to have killed the game for Chelsea. Tarkowski's poor pass into midfield was picked off by Willian who found Pulisic, he ran at the home defence who were scared to get anywhere near him, and his shot once he reached the box caught out Pope thanks to a big deflection off Mee's slide.

Pulisic hattrick

And in the 56th minute Pulisic completed his hattrick. A Chelsea corner went back out to Mount who whipped it back into the near post, where Pulisic - who else - nodded it in off the back of his head for his third of the evening.

Willian goal

Burnley were crumbling now and barely kicked off before Pope was picking the ball out of the back of the net again. Abraham found Willian in the right channel and Pieters backed off him as he got into a shooting position before beating Pope at his near post.

Rodriguez stunner

Rodriguez grabbed his first league goal at Turf Moor since his return they were pretty chuffed. It was a stunner too from the returning striker, going for goal from a good 30 yards out and beating Kepa with a brilliant dipping effort.

McNeil goal

McNeil got into space 20 yards out and went for goal, his effort deceived Kepa with a big touch off Tomori and it went in.

Despite the late scare from Burnley, Chelsea wrapped up their seventh win in a row to keep pace with third-placed Leicester City. The win leaves the Blues fourth with 20 points, five behind leaders Liverpool while Burnely are 11th on the log with 12 points.

Next assignment

Chelsea will turn their attention in the EFL Cup when they host Manchester United at Stamford Bridge while Burnely will take on Sheffield United in a Premier League clash.
