Harambee Stars Probable Squad for Egypt test

Kenya’s Harambee Stars is set to begin its 2021 African Cup of Nations Qualification journey with a tie against Egypt on November 15.

Head coach Francis Kimanzi is expected to name a team that will represent Stars for the tie this week with a chunk of it picked from his last squad that did duty against Mozambique in a friendly clash early this month.

In that game, Kenya failed to have the services of midfielder Eric Johanna and Ayub Timbe but the duo should be back in the fold with striker Masud Juma, who withdrew from the same squad due to an injury expected to be out.

Goalkeeping Department

The goalkeeping department should remain the same with Patrick Matasi hoping that he is considered for the tie. The right-back is another position that is still up for grabs with Kimanzi preferring Sharks Samuel Olwande and Slovakia based Yusuf Mainge as his understudy.

Musa Mohammed should also make a return to the team after missing the last outing with his void having been filled by Tusker FC’s Hillary Wandera.

With Timbe’s return, either Clifton Miheso of Cliff Nyakeya might give way with a new third striker to act as an understudy to Michael Olunga or Jesse Were expected in the team.
