Arguments and disbelief buzzed in trains, buses and taxis across Mzansi this morning: “It was a clear offside but we’ll take it” said thousands of Orlando Pirates fans - but what does the coach himself say?

Rhulani Mokwena made his way from the Makhulong Stadium dressing room to the press conference briefing knowing very well he needed to answer one key talking point: Tshegofasto Mabasa’s offside winner.
While the opposing coach Owen Da Gama said the incident needing jailing, Mokwena said this:
"No comment. I haven't seen it yet. I think things even themselves out at the end of the season. It's unfortunate for Owen [Da Gama] but I haven't seen it yet so I can't comment," Mokwena said via Kick Off.
"No comment on the nature of the goal. Look, in the history of the PSL, I was reading an article in one of the publications [KickOff.com] that we made a record of 32 shots in 90 minutes and we didn't even score a goal [in our previous match].”
The 43-year-old coach nevertheless suggested that Pirates earned deserved luck. Mokwena believes that his players work had forced the mistake and praise should be given to his men.
"Sometimes like I said things even themselves out. The rub of the green sometimes falls on your side. Fortune favours the brave and credit to the players for being on the receiving end of that,” Mokwena concluded.
