The Zambia Under-23 National Team has arrived in Cairo ahead of the Egypt 2019 Africa Cup of Nations that kicks off this Friday.
The Young Copper Bullets arrived at the Cairo International Airport on Sunday at 17:05 hours local time aboard Emirates Airlines. The team was received by officials from the Egypt Football Association and Zambian embassy staff.
The team is lodged at the Novotel Hotel where they will be holed up for the duration of the tournament. Zambia is in Group B alongside neighbors South Africa, Defending champions Nigeria and Ivory Coast.
Zambia opens its campaign on November 9 against South Africa before facing Nigeria three days later and will conclude their group stage with a match against Ivory Coast on November 15. The top three teams at the AFCON will qualify for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
