Chelsea's Champions League quest has received a major shot in the arm, following news that N'Golo Kante is ready for a return to the lineup that will face Ajax on Tuesday night.
The Frenchman has been missing from the side since the 4-1 win over Southampton in the Premier League due to an ankle injury, but coach Frank Lampard has revealed he is now ready for action.
Kante joined the rest of the team in training on Monday as they put final paces to their preparations ahead of the tough job that awaits them.
In his prematch address, Lampard further revealed that Ross Barkley and Andreas Christensen are back in training, having been out for a couple of weeks now.
Chelsea welcome last year's semifinalists to Stamford Bridge hoping to pick yet another win, following their success last time out in Amsterdam when they won 1-0.
Lampard is, however, warning his charges that they need to approach the game with utmost care and accord their opponents the respect they deserve.
"We must understand the quality and danger of Ajax. They are such a technical team. We've shown a great reaction since losing the opening home game. As Chelsea, we expect to go through, but we must have the same preparation and attitude as in the last two games," said Lampard.
The Blues started their European campaign on the wrong footing, losing 1-0 at home to Spanish side Valencia on the opening day of the competition.
They have however picked themselves up to record two wins in a row; away to Ajax and Lille, to put their campaign back on track.
