Serie A side Hellas Verona have reportedly been handed a partial ban that will see them play in a closed stadium after the alleged racial abuse of Mario Balotelli according to AP reports.
Balotelli who plays for Brescia allegedly threatened to walk off the pitch after the Verona fans had hurled racial slurs at him during Sunday's clash that saw Verona win 2-1 over Brescia.
The Serie A have reportedly revealed that Verona's "Poltrone est" - the section where the chants where being heard will be closed for one match as punishment to the fans who were involved.
The league further added that the chants could be heard loud and clearly but also reiterated that the other parts of the stadium could be heard with chants of sincere support and applause.
Balotelli was born in Italy to Ghanaian immigrants and has seen himself represent the Italy national team in his career - he recently made the return to Serie A after spending time plying his trade in France.
