Newcastle United and West Ham United have reportedly emerged as the two Premier League clubs who are interested in the services of Genk striker Mbwana Samatta.
However, it is not yet clear if the pair will be keen on a January move or perhaps the next summer but it is certain that the Tanzania international will be garnering plentiful interest.
Samatta scored 32 goals from 51 competitive matches for Genk during the 2018/19 season and has already found the back of the net eight times in this current campaign - including a goal against Liverpool.
The 26-year-old allegedly has a release clause rumoured to be in the region of £10 million and it is yet to be seen if Newcastle or West Ham will take that chance on him considering their current struggle in the Premier League.
The Magpies currently have nine goals from 11 games, while the Hammers have scored just 14 this season.
Newcastle broke their club record when they signed Joelinton for £40 million during the summer transfer window - he has managed to score one goal.
On the other hand, Sebastien Haller whom West Ham broke the bank for£45 million has been doing taking the Premier League in his stride having already scored four goals but there is certainly room for him to produce more.
While Sebastian Haller has done well for West Ham with four goals, the £45 million summer signing needs to do more.
Both Premier League sides could do with quality striking options in order to boost their respective squads and Samatta may just be the man to come to their rescue.
