Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has urged the club's fans to exercise patience with new signing Nicolas Pepe following his summer arrival.
The Ivorian has struggled to replicate his form at Lille last season, managing only a single Premier League goal so far this season.
Henry, however, believes the winger will come good, and the fans need to be a little patient.
“When you arrive like that, you’re always going to be talked about, and people are always going to target you. He needs to make sure he doesn’t listen to that and go out and perform," Henry said in an interview with Yahoo Sports.
“People need to forget about the price tag. He didn’t ask to be bought for that amount of money himself,"
“It’s not always easy to arrive in a team, adapt to a new style of play. The Premier League, as we know, is not the same as the French League or any other league, by the way. So he needs to adapt to that. We need to give him time,"
Despite his struggles in the Premier League, the Ivorian came to the Gunners' rescue in the Europa League group match against Vitoria de Guimaraes, scoring two wonderful freekicks to give the Gunners a 3-2 win.
He arrived at the Emirates in a club fee of £72m.
