Harambee Stars striker Michael Olunga scored an astonishing seven goals as Kashiwa Reysol battered Kyoto 13-1 in a Japanese J2 League clash staged at the Kashiwa Stadium on Sunday 24 November.
Olunga opened the scoring in the sixth minute, before adding a second and a third in the 23rd and 33rd minutes as the hosts took a 4-1 lead going into the break.
The lanky forward then continued with his scoring vein in the second half with four more goals, as they added nine unanswered goals.
Apart from Olunga's seven, Brazilians Cristiano and Matheus Savio grabbed a hattrick and a brace respectively, in a largely one-sided affair.
The win saw Kashiwa consolidate their top spot in the league on 84 points, five ahead of second-placed Yokohama, who are on 79 points.
He takes home the Golden Boot with 27 goals, with his side promoted back to the Japanese top flight.
