Bandari head coach Bernard Mwalala believes his side is still in the title race despite recent poor performance in the Kenyan Premier League.
Bandari suffered the sixth defeat on Sunday in the hands of Tusker following a 1-0 loss at Ruaraka Grounds. The Mombasa based club is experiencing a run of bad results, having struggled to keep a clean sheet in the recent matches.
Mwalala believes the Dockers are still in the race for the title as he expects other teams to drop points as the season continues.
"We’ve been in hard times; recent results have not been good but I believe we need to remain the same all through, it is a game and for us, it is a marathon. We are in the round of 10, and we have more 23 matches to play," he said.
"We’ve lost six matches already this season and I know many didn’t expect such but believe me, every team, even the champion (whoever will lift the title this season) will have to more than 8 times. So according to us, we are very much in contention according to our set plan," he added.
"Last season we lost 12 matches and we ended up finishing second on the log, all will be needed is to avoid more defeats."
Bandari, who are currently 13th on the log with 12 points will host Wazito FC on Friday 6th at Mbaraki Sports Club.
