What Pep Guardiola told his players after defeat to Manchester United

Following Manchester City's defeat against arch-rivals Manchester United in the Derby, Rodri has revealed what Pep Guardiola told his players after the match.

City slipped 14 points behind table-toppers Liverpool in the title race after their 2-1 home defeat to Manchester United on Saturday.

Goals from Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial put United ahead in the first half but City pulled one back in the dying minutes of the game when Nicolas Otamendi headed in a consolation goal.

Rodri was asked what Guardiola said in the dressing room after a match marked by four VAR calls, "The manager always takes the good points. He tried to lift our heads up. It is a tough moment for the team, but we have to keep fighting.

"We have other cups, other goals which are interesting and very good, so we need to keep fighting and of course recover people because we have lots of problems with injuries – it’s been tough at the beginning of the season."
