Lumwana Radiants head coach Patrick Phiri believes his side deserved to get at least a point from their game against Napsa Stars on Saturday.
The former Chipolopolo coach felt his defense switched off in the first half allowing Napsa Stars to score two goals.
"It's a very painful loss I think we played well only lapses in the defense in the first half. I think the players went to sleep and conceded two goals but after that, we recovered and pull one back. We could have managed a draw I think a fair result should have been a draw," he said.
"We have gone two matches without losing before this match we just have to work harder on the defense and finishing. We have register some good score lines and we still look forward that we can do that again," he added.
Lumwana is currently in 11th place but is just three points away from the relegation zone but Phiri believes if they keep their momentum they can avoid the relegation zone.
"Obviously at this juncture, we should be worried but we confident that if we keep the momentum we should be able to escape relegation," he said.
Collins Sikombe and Bornwell Mwape put Napsa Stars two-nil up in the first half with Musonda Siame scoring Lumwana's consolation goal, 2-1 the match ended.
