Tanzania midfielder Simon Msuva set to join Portuguese giants Benfica

Tanzania attacking midfielder Simon Msuva is set to join Portuguese giants’ SL Benfica on a three-year deal.

According to his representative Dr. Jonas Tiboroha, the player will not feature for his club immediately as he will be out on a six-month loan deal to Greece giants Panathinaikos.

“Its true (on signing for Benfica). The contract officially begins on 15th January but he will first leave on loan to Panathinaikos before returning to feature for Benfica in July. The transfer has been smooth, everything is done and he has signed a three-year deal,” Tiboroha told Wasafi FM

Msuva previous club Yanga SC will be getting nothing from the deal after failing to insert a clause that allowed them to get some money should the player having been sold by Morocco side Difaa El Jadida; a club he joined in 2017.

Yanga sold Msuva to Jadida for $80000 in what was one of the best exports in their history and many thought that they were bright enough to get something from a player that is considered one of the best in Tanzania.
