Mamelodi Sundowns captain fantastic Hlompho Kekana celebrated 300 appearances for Absa Premiership champions last night.
Kekana was presented with the big 300 framed jersey before Tuesday night’s game against Bidvest Wits - though the 300 mark was marked in the club’s previous CAF Champions League in Algeria last month.
"Keke is a milestone. I think he is the best captain for me at Sundowns in terms of achievements," Mosimane said via Kick Off.
"I don't know if any other captain has won so many trophies like him [at Sundowns] and to do 300 games with a goal away in Algers is an icing on the cake."
Mosimane further gave a special example of the Limpopo-born player’s leadership traits: always being present for duty. "He has been here. He has been the captain. He is a role model. I don't remember him missing training since I have been here. I don't remember Kekana missing a training session.
"He gives everything that he has in every match, same spirit, same mentality irrespective of his age that is working against him. He is a true soldier and role model,” Mosimane concluded.
