Sergio Aguero fires a warning to Alan Shearer after smashing Thierry Henry's record

After breaking Thierry Henry's 175 goals record, Sergio Aguero has set his sights on smashing Alan Shearer's all-time English Premier League goals record.

Aguero's first two goals against Villa wrote himself into Premier League history as he surpassed Thierry Henry's record of 175 to become the highest international goalscorer in the league.

The three goals also enabled him to surpass Shearer's 11 hat-tricks in the league as the Argentine currently stands on 12.

In an interview with Sky Sports after the 1-6 thumping of Villa, Aguero was asked about his chances of beating Shearer's total, "I will try. Too far to Shearer, he has too many goals so I don't know. Maybe, I will try."

Aguero was also delighted to have broken records with his hat-trick, "I am so happy for the record but thank you to my team-mates because they help me in this match. I am so happy.

"It shows when I scored the second, then I think 'one more I break the record for hat-tricks'. I want to keep scoring more goals but it all depends on my team-mates. If he pass to me, it's fine. [Mahrez]"

Aguero moved level with Frank Lampard as the fourth-highest Premier League goalscorer and sits 83 goals behind Shearer as the Premier League's all-time scorer.
