The clash between hosts Gor Mahia and Bandari FC that was slated for Saturday 25 January at the Kenyatta Stadium-Machakos has been moved to Nakuru’s Afraha Stadium with the date remaining the same.
The Kenyan Premier League has not given any reason for the change but reports indicate that the move has been necessitated by the poor stat of the Kenyatta Stadium which has been overused due to lack of proper facilities in the country.
Gor has used Kenyatta for s chunk of their home games with Moi Stadium-Kisumu being their second home ground but the financial struggles couldn’t allow them to take the game to Kisumu just two weeks after playing against Chemelil Sugar FC and Kakamega Homeboyz in the Western part of the country.
The match is important for both sides as they look to close down on their respective opponents with Bandari doing all they can to change their fortunes that have not convinced since the start of the season.
It will be Twahir Muhiddin’s first game in charge of Bandari after they parted ways with head coach Bernard Mwalala last week due to a spate of poor results.
Gor, on the other hand, will be out to regain the top spot they have lost to Tusker FC despite having played two games less than their opponents.
