England national team manager Gareth Southgate has reportedly been monitoring Everton defender Mason Holgate during their last three Premier League matches, according to Football Insider.
Southgate and his Three Lions coaching team are said to have watched Holgate’s performances against West Ham United, Brighton & Hove Albion and Manchester City, suggesting the 23-year-old is in contention for his senior international debut...
Holgate last featured for England back in 2017 when the U21s lost to Germany on penalties at the U21 European Championship.
The 23-year-old's performances have not only put him on the international radar but Football Insider claims that Newcastle United, Bournemouth, and Sheffield United are the Premier League teams having a look at him at the moment.
Holgate made 21 appearances as a right-back during his loan spell with West Bromwich Albion last season and he is on a new type of form this season that has seen him averaging 1.9 successful tackles from 2.4 attempts per 90 minutes in the league, alongside 1.3 interceptions, 3.5 clearances, 1.5 blocks, 4.9 accurate long balls and wins 2.0 of his 3.9 aerial duels, per WhoScored data.
