Zesco United head coach George Lwandamina says he will not get carried away with the team's 2-1 win over Builcon.
Lwandamina is, however, hoping the win will give his players the match needed confidence heading into Saturday's CAF Champions League match against Primiero de Agosto of Angola.
“It is important to return to winning ways. However, we are not going to get carried away with this victory. We have been here before. We beat KYSA and later on lost three games," he said.
"What is important for each player now is to challenge themselves. I am hoping the strikers will also develop some confidence. I can’t speak for them but I only hope they have gained some confidence from today’s game.”
The Zesco gaffer was also quick to acknowledge Zimbabwean midfielder Tafadzwa Rusike's instant impact and heaped praise on the former Sensational Zanaco player.
“He is a very good player who brings another level of football into the team. He is at a level whereby his friends are trying to understand his type of football and he is also trying to understand our philosophy as a team. Rusike wants to exploit his chances in the team. He is a great asset to this football club,” Lwandamina said.
An own goal put Zesco in the lead in the 27th minute after Buildcon’s Erick Kabulo diverted the David Owino's cross into his own net. Winston Kalengo doubled the lead ten minutes into the second stanza before Mpho Mathekgane could pull one back for Team Kopala in the last ten minutes.
