The departure of players from Manchester United seems not to be ending soon with news that defender Marcos Rojo is ready to agree on a loan deal with former club Estudiantes.
Goal Argentina reports that the deal ‘only requires his signature’ before going through with Rojo having expressed his interest in leaving the club after falling down the pecking order.
A loan deal to Everton was muted last summer and this January with other outlets reporting that he was to be used as part of the Bruno Fernandez deal.
United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer prefer the partnership of Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof at the heart of the defence with Axel Tuanzebe, Eric Bailly, Phil Jones and Tim Fosu-Mensah his preferred backup option.
United are willing to consider a loan deal to give the player an opportunity to gain fitness and stake his claim for the Argentina side due to play in the Copa America in the summer.
Rojo’s loan deal was fueled by former Manchester United midfielder Juan Sebastian Veron who is chairman of Estudiantes.
‘We hope that United can see that there would be no financial problem. We can’t match his financial conditions, but the agreement could happen another way. We’re working toward him being able to return,” Veron told La Nacion.
