πŸ‡ΏπŸ‡² Is Baba Basile putting an end to Mugalu's reign?

Chris Mugalu runs as Lusaka Dynamos' star striker and arguably the league's best center forward may be coming to an end all thanks to Cameroonian forward Baba Basile.

The 2017 Super League top goalscorer has been hampered by injuries and has been out of action for close to three months.

Transfer Saga

The Congolese forward was also involved in a transfer saga that saw Zesco United announce him as their player before the two teams came to an agreement and Mugalu stayed at Elite.

Mugalu signed a precontract with Zesco United and pocketed 60% of his signing-on fee before deciding to extend his contract at Lusaka dynamos.

Lusaka Dynamos have however not missed the lethal forward as much as they could have because Baba Basile has stepped up and everyone seems to have forgotten about Mugalu for now.

Following his latest goal over the weekend in the 2-1 win over Power Dynamos, Basile has now scored in each of the last 6 consecutive games against Green Eagles, Kabwe Warriors, ZANACO, Nakambala, Lumwana Radiants, and Power Dynamos.

He now has 10 goals in total including a brace against KYSA and a goal each in games against ZESCO and Red Arrows. That now puts him top of the scorer's chart alongside Kenyan talisman Jesse Jackson Were and 2012 AFCON winner James Chamanga.

He is a genuine contender for the golden boot and the player of the season accolade should he continue with his fine form and for a player who was not even the first-choice striker at relegated MUZA last season.

With Napsa Stars being Lusaka Dynamos' next opponent, The fans will be hoping the lanky forward can continue his goal-scoring spree.
