According to reports, Man City feels that the decision by UEFA to ban them from European competitions for two seasons was reached after pressure from some European giants.
The club has indicated that they will appeal the decision, but so far, nothing has been reported.
According to The Athletic, the Premier League champions feel that several rival clubs - both domestically and on the continent - called on UEFA to act should there be an indication that City had overstated sponsorship income in past years.
Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, and at least one English team are said to have encouraged action against the North-West side.
Several media houses have been reporting that the English FA might also take action on Man City, but the body is yet to comment on the matter.
