Boubakary Soumare and Lille have moved to iron out their differences that emerged after the club failed to agree on a deal that would have seen the French youth international move to England.
French newspaper La Voix des Sports reports indicate that the midfielder was left out of the Lille squad that lost 2-1 to Olympique de Marseille due to the escalating transfer row. It is understood that Soumare was massively disappointed that Lille rejected Newcastle United's £52 million offer.
Soumare's representatives met with Lille leadership and thrashed out the misunderstandings that may have arisen.
In an interview with the club website, Soumare explained that everything is okay now and they have put the saga behind them.
“We needed to speak with the club to resolve a situation concerning the management and development of my career. Now it's settled. We have to go ahead and plan for the rest of the season. I am really very happy to be at LOSC. I am grateful to this club which gave me my first professional contract. I hope that we finish on the podium and that we can get back Champions League next season," he said.
The 20-year-old has attracted interests from several clubs amongst them giants Manchester United, Real Madrid and Jose Mourinho's Tottenham.
He is eligible to play for either France or Senegal at the international stage.
