Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has hinted as using new signing Bruno Fernandes more in the number 10 role.
The Portuguese, who arrived at the club in January, has had a positive impact in the three matches he has featured in the Premier League so far, and got his first goal against Watford on Sunday evening.
His performances in the middle of the park have excited the club's fans, with Solskjaer likening him to club legends Paul Scholes and Juan Sebastien Veron.
Speaking after the match against the Hornets, Solskjaer heaped praise on Fernandes' effect at the club, three weeks since joining.
“Now we’ve got the no.10 or attacking midfielder nailed down,“ said Solskjaer as quoted by the club's official website.
“Hopefully, he’ll keep fit and keep producing performances.
“He’s a box-to-box midfielder and can do everything a midfielder can. He’s similar, as I said, to Veron and Scholes. Some games he’ll play in a two, and some games he’ll play attacking midfielder or a 10. He’s played every position in midfield.” he added.
He was voted Man of the Match by the club's fans, and Solskjaer believes he deserved it especially having been at the centre of every United attack.
“Bruno has come in to be a very important player,” added Ole. “We’ve needed that type of player. He knows he’s here to play. One of the good things about him is he takes risks with the ball like Veron did,"
The club's fans have every reason to be excited with the midfield, and it looks, even more, promising with the likes of Paul Pogba and Scott McTominay returning to the squad.
