World football governing body FIFA and the Asian football federation AFC have postponed all the 2022 World Cup Qualifying games as a result of the coronavirus outbreak.
The virus which has seen many football federations and league take measure to curb the spread this despite the Asian qualifying having been underway for the tournament.
The move means that all the national teams in Asia won’t be in action for games scheduled for March and June.
Countries are currently split into eight groups in the second round of qualifying and World Cup regulars such as South Korea, Japan, and Australia will all be affected by the decision.
There has been no word on when the postponed games will take place.
