Zamalek star Achraf Bencharki is dreaming of meeting his former sideWydad Casablanca in the CAF Champions League finals.
The Moroccan international has been in rich form at the Egyptian club helping it win African Super Cup as well as Egypt Super Cup in February. Zamalek dethroned Esperance as African club champions after beating them 3-2 in the quarterfinals.
"Playing the Wydad will be very hard, but despite that, I hope to meet them in the finals. I am a professional Zamalek player and I respect the club. But playing the Wydad on neutral ground and away from its bases will ease the difficulty of this match. It is certain that I wish to win the title with Zamalek," he told the club's official website.
The Champions League semis is a tasty Egypt v Morocco affair as Zamalek take on Raja Casablanca while Al Ahly will battle it out with Wydad. This is the first time in history that four clubs from two countries are squaring off at the semis finals.
On Tuesday, CAF Emergency Committee announced that they will meet in early April to decide when the continental club competitions will be concluded amidst coronavirus crisis.
