Caglar Soyuncu's Turkey international teammate Merih Demiral was reportedly close to joining Leicester City during the January transfer window, Leicester Mercury reported.
However, the deal didn't materialise in the end as the 22-year-old found himself breaking into the Juventus starting line-up but he would eventually sustain a knee injury which ruled him out until the summer.
Demiral, like Soyuncu, has been highly rated as a centre-half with the two forming a solid partnership at the back in Turkey's Euro 2020 qualifying campaign.
Soyuncu reckons the combination is sensational and believes that it would be ideal for Leicester if Demiral eventually finds himself joining the Foxes in the near future.
The 23-year-old has formed a partnership with Jonny Evans this season which inspired the Foxes to the third-best defensive record in the Premier League this campaign.
Speaking about Demiral, Soyuncu told Turkish publication Fotomac: “If the two of us were of the same character, we could not be so successful. He covers for me and I cover for him."
