Manchester City stars have paid tribute to Pep Guardiola’s mu, Dolors Sala Carrio, who passed on Monday from coronavirus.
City confirmed that Carrio passed in Manresa-Barcelona at the age of 82 with the footballing world joining the Spaniard in mourning his mother.
City players were not left behind as they showed support to their manager with keeper Ederson leading the tributes.
Ederson wrote on Instagram: “Thoughts to Pep and his family that has a lot of strength at that moment. We are with you.”
Kevin de Bruyne wrote on Twitter: “Thoughts are with Pep and his family at this time. One team.”
Benjamin Mendy added: “You always have treated me like a son and just like in a family we laugh together; we also cry together. My deepest condolences to Pep and all the Guardiola family.”
Raheem Sterling said: “All my thoughts and my deepest condolences to Pep & his family. Tragic news and a sad reminder for us all to stay home and protect our people.”
Apart from the City family, others who joined in the tributes included City’s old-time rival Rio Ferdinand who said: “Sending my love & condolences to Pep and his family!”
