According to Real Madrid's Toni Kroos, taking percentages of player's salaries is not helping anything with the current situation.
Barcelona and Atletico Madrid have reduced their players' salaries by 70 percent but Real Madrid is yet to communicate on this, and the German midfielder believes the players should be given the opportunity to decide what they want to do with their money.
Speaking on the SWR Sport podcast, Kroos said: "Waiving salary is like a donation in vain, or to the club. It should be an option for everyone to consider. I think it's even better to get the full salary and then do the right thing with it.
"I don't think it's necessary here. The other thing is the question of what I do with all the money I get. We must all help where help is needed. And there are a lot of places where help is needed right now."
LaLiga has been suspended due to the virus, but there are plans of ensuring the season is played to completion.
