Bundesliga side Bayern Munich are said to be greatly irritated by Manuel Neuer wage demands as speculation regarding his future continue to grow louder.
The German goalkeeper is going into the last year of his contract at Allianz Arena and is reportedly holding out for a bumper five year contract to remain in Germany.
It is understood, however, that Bayern Munich are reluctant to cave in and offer a contract of that length due to his age and fitness concerns. The Bavarian giants have already announced that 23-year-old Alexander Nubel will join them from Schalke in summer.
The 34-year-old German international has been linked with a move out of Germany with Chelsea strongly believed to be his next destination. Chelsea have had issues in the goalkeeping department with Kepa Arrizabalaga singled out for inconsistencies.
German sports newspaper SportBild reports that Bayern have been left infuriated by Neuer's demands after they expected the contract renewals to be cordial and smooth given the history between the two parties.
Neuer has made 374 appearances for Bayern across all competitions since 2011, winning seven Bundesliga titles and one Champions League in that time.
