Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich are on the verge of handing a new contract to defender Alphonso Davies.
The 19-year-old Canadian has impressed this season and according to Manuel Bonke of TZ, Bayern is set to reward the player for his efforts with an improved deal to wade off suitors.
Davies, is one of the lowest earners on the Bayern first team and the extension should bring him up to parity with his colleagues, and reflect the growth he’s shown during his 18 months stay at Munich.
The defender had a good outing in the Champions League at Stamford Bridge; an outing that saw him receive plaudits from both the Bayern coach and the club fans.
The youngster was drafted into the club’s first team following injuries to players with David Alaba-who has been manning the left-back occupied by the player-moved to centre back.
Alphonso is just but one of the players who Bayern are keen to tie on new deals with others being Thiago Alcantara and Jerome Boateng; this after Thomas Muller signed a new contract a week ago.
